Part Number (P/N)

A unique identifier assigned to a part within a company's inventory system. Also called Part or Company P/N.

Example

Companies typically define their Company P/N by Part Type, using specific prefixes and numbering schemes. For example, capacitors might be labeled as CAP00001, CAP00002, etc.
